New Picture of Hair Cut

So when Jaden woke up this morning after a long night of no sleep (he's cutting a tooth and he is still so happy, wish I could be that jovial after being up all night) but his hair was sticking straight up and it was weird. So after a little spray and tweeking this is what we got, now if only I could put some gel in it, maybe it would stay this way.

Michael Hates the Hair Cut

So Michael was so upset about his haircut, he said he looks Metrosexual, a cross between Justin Timberlake and somebody I else I can't remember who, but he doesn't look like our little boy anymore. I told him it takes a little getting used to but he looks still looks cute.

Borrowed this from a Blog, it's helping me get through my rough day

Haircut

So I did it, I overrode Michael on Jaden's hair, I couldn't take it anymore, it was ssooo long. So I took him to the mall and while my friend Heather watched the girls, I had his hair cut.

Here is the before, as if you needed help remembering the wildness.

And here is after, still has the curls but at least it's only half wild. The texture automatically changed as well, it was so weird. He looks like a little boy, it's cute but so sad.

Weekend Visit

We were so excited my brother came for a visit with his two children, and my kids had such a wonderful time, we all did. They arrived late Friday night and all the kids were up bright and early Saturday morning. After thinking about something to do for a few days, because let's be honest there just is not enough room in our house for 6 kids. The noise level would drive us all crazy, but it was great. The weather was great, the kids were great. We went to a Literacy Counsel event in Fall Church, although we got there a little late because of lost dog that found it's way outside our front door, more on the dog later, so we missed Clifford the big Red Dog (the whole purpose we were going) we caught the end of the event and watched a concert from a kids group called Rocknosaurus, they were very cute. The weather was so nice it seemed a shame to go home so we drove 35 minutes away to Hadley Park - so Madison could get a little nap and let the kids play outside. They all played and were so excited to run and have a good time. By the time we got home for dinner everyone was wiped and after a couple of quick games on the Wii, all the kids went to bed without much effort. They were all up at the crack of dawn the next day wanting to get in as much play time as possible before they left.

This cute little dog showed up on our front porch Saturday morning, making Zoey bark like crazy. When Michael brought him in he was a nervous wreck. He had no tags and was completely lost. All of the kids except, Kaleigh (of course - not a dog person) Madison (could care less) and Jaden wanted to know if we could keep the dog. After several hundred "NO's" and telling them his family probably misses him we need to find his home. We made posters and hung them through out our neighborhood, no one seemed to know who this dog belonged too. The kids were so excited they were sure the dog was going to stay, Michael took it out for one last walk for the night, his family pulls up in front of our house. The dog named Ernie lives in the house behind ours (they just moved in) why didn't we think of this first, but they had been gone all day. My nephew was so sad, I told my brother, I see a dog in his future.... he didnt' agree.

St Patrick's day, sorry no picture

So to celebrate St. Patrick's day, which I didn't do a lot for because well I'm Peutro Rican so it's not like I'm Irish, but we like to have fun with the leprechaun's. Well the leprechaun's painted the toilet water green and I forgot to take a quick picture (sorry I forgot) but Jordan thought it was hysterical unfortunately she refused to used the bathroom after that. Kaleigh didn't care one way or the other, I think she wasn't fazed by it, however for the rest of the day Jordan kept asking what mischief the leprechaun's kept doing in our house. Quite frankly I wish I could blame the mess on them, but unfortunately I can't, it's called 4 young children.

Burp cloth and Bibs

So my friend Heather has been teaching me to sew, Michael is so happy because after 4 years of having my sewing machine, I'm actually getting use out of it. I have attempted in the past to do several different projects and have failed miserably and kept saying I wanted lessons but never had the time. Now my friend Heather comes over on Monday's and helps me get set up and brings her sewing machine and we sew together. I have actually hemmed up Jaden's curtains, correctly I might add, and made the kids t-shirts for valentine's day. My friends Abi and Bridget had babies recently, so I decided to make them bibs and burp cloths. I made Abi's burp cloth and bib from scratch purchasing terri cloth and cute flannel material, but my picture of it did not come out so I didn't post it. For Bridget's I made the bib from scratch but added the material to a cloth diaper, here is the picture of how it came out.

My next project is going to be new pillows for my girls and eventually some new bedding, if I can find material cheap enough. I hope Heather has lots of time to help me.

Snow Day

A little late, but we had a snow day on Monday and Michael took the day off and took the girls sledding. The older girls liked it but Madison was a little cold, although she walked in the door and said "I had fun". Eventhough it was only 29 degrees.
